Subject: Jesus' Instruction to Nicodemus |
Bible Note: "Faith in Christ is the proof that He died for you and satisfied the justice of God for you." ??? Where is the Scriptural foundation for this statement? These verses just do not contain this teaching. Jesus died for everyone, so that everyone has the opportunity to be saved. Num 21:9 And Moses made a serpent of bronze and put it on a pole; and it happened, if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked to the bronze serpent, he lived. "when a serpent had bitten any man" - any man - when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived. He Lived!!! What news of joy to all! You had to look at the bronze serpent. If you didn't, you didn't live. You did not look at the bronze serpent as the proof that you had already been healed from the poison of the serpents. If you refused to look, you died! What a perfect picture of salvation. Sin brings death. God provides the way for anyone to avoid the death of sin, just look to the Way that God has provided. But if you don't look, you don't live. Joh 3:14 And even as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, Joh 3:15 that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Look to Jesus, that you may live! Love in Christ, Mark |
