Bible Question:
Greetings Steve: Although many believers feel the same way that you do (ref. III John:7) where did all the gold and silver come from that went into the building of the Tabernacle? According to Exodus 12:35-6, the Israelites plundered the Egyptians when they left. It seems to me that when the Tabernacle was eventually constructed, unless the former slaves of Egypt had been mining for gold in the desert, it was funded by the Gentiles! If all things come from the Hand of God, should we choose to accept only from believers? Your sister in the Lord, Mommapbs |
Bible Answer: Hello Mommapbs As you have stated, the Israelites "plundered" the Egyptians. I see it as just recompense for the years of slavery. God executed His vengeance on Egypt and allowed Israel to benefit from it. There was an occasion (Corinth) where Paul even refused to accept money from believers because he wanted nothing to get in the way of the ministry. I just think we need to be careful about who funds the Lord's work. Steve |
