Bible Note: diasperio - You say that Psalm 16:10-11 doesn't prophesy about Jesus. How absurd! In Acts 2:25-28 Peter quotes four verses from Psalm 16 (8-11) and Paul in Acts 13:35 quotes Psalm 16:10. I urge you to read these passages! ..... As for messianic prophecies in Isaiah 52 and 53, about which you make the ridiculuous statement about their not being about the Messiah either, Isaiah 52:13-53:12 contains the last and most memorable of the four Messianic/Servant songs in the book of Isaiah. About this passage John MacArthur writes, "This section contains unarguable, incontrovertible proof that God is the author of Scripture and Jesus the fulfillment of messianic prophecy. The details are so minute that no human being could have predicted them by accident and no imposter fulfilled them by cunning. Clearly this refers to Messiah Jesus, as the New Testament attests (Matt. 8:17; Mark 15:28; Luke 22:37; John 12:38; Acts 8:28-35; Rom. 10:16; 1 Peter 2:21-25.)" ..... Really, diasperio, you are doing this Forum no good by posting on theologicial issues about which you know virtually nothing. In point of fact, you are doing harm to new Christians who may take what you say seriously and believe it to be a right handling of the word of truth when in reality it is nothing but guesswork and uniformed opinion mixed generously with hot air. --Hank |
