Subject: The "awful" Truth? |
Bible Note: I am not only not a student of history, I'm am also not a student of literature. I have no idea what Joyce was talking about when I tried to read him years ago. Unfortuately, although he is long dead, his legacy continues... I don't understand many acclaimed modern authors. I used Joyce because his books were banned by good Chritians who decided what is best for other people to read or what kind of movies they should see. Wasn't it called the legion of decency? Perhaps a student of history knows... We as Christians have faith in incredible exclusive truths. We alone have salvation. That should result in exceptional humility, particulary, when we talking about those truths. That's the sweet aroma that others will find attractive. Regarding Lukewarm Christians and doublemindedness. I feel God's presence many days when in prayer or the Word. He is working in me slowly and patiently and has been for over a year. I depend on him to change me and I wait on him... no quick fixes, no vows, no gritting of the teeth to be better Christian... just praying, reading the Word daily and trying to serve. |
