Bible Question: I have been a Christian for about 25 years and was taught that we pray to God through Jesus Christ His Son (ie, in Jesus' name I pray). I have been asked why I do this and why I do not pray directly to God. I assume there is Biblical authority for this, but I have been unable to find it. Thanks for your help. - kak |
Bible Answer: I hope you believed that Jesus Christ is God. Php 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Question"Why we should pray to God in Jesus Name? Because without Christ, we are alliens from the commonwealth of Israel, meaning without Christ our prayer will not be heard." Without Christ we have no hope, and without God in the World. How can we pray having without God? It is the grace of Christ make our prayer heard without Him we have no God. Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: He is the Way Truth and the Life no one comes to the Father but by Him. John 14:6 We have to ask the Father through Him, because without Him we dont know the Father: Joh 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you Joh 16:26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: If we are going to say that we dont need Jesus when we pray it be the same denying His presence, He will deny us to His Father: Mt 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever received Him received Him not but the Father. Mr 9:37 Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me. God bless, |
