Bible Note: Hi Tim, I wrote, "I would say that we have the Truth revealed and the truth announced in these passages." If you agree with that would you also agree that John 14:6 reveals Jesus as the Way, and the Truth, and the Life? 1) I see the following verses as comparison verses, and invite comments on them. John 14:7, "If you had known (Me), you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him and have seen Him." John 14:11, NKJ, "Believe Me that I am in the Father, and the (Father) in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves." John 14:17, "...but you know Him because (He) abides with you, and will be in you." John 14:23, "...and My Father will love him, and (We) will come to him, and make Our abode with him." John 14:29, "And now I have told you before it comes to pass, that when it comes to pass, you may believe. 30 (I) will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me;" John 15:7, "If you abide in Me, and (My) words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you." My point in showing these comparisons and parentheses for comparison, is that the Truth, (the Spirit of truth) abides with us and will be in us as believers. Also His words of truth abide in us and we keep His words and commandments. From the heart, Ray |
