AMPLIFIED 2015 | John 16:13 "But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. Bible Question: Has the verse been fulfilled or partly fulfilled? |
Bible Answer: jim: The promise of Christ in John 16:13 was and is being kept. The Holy Spirit has been and still is keeping and fulfilling it since the Day of Pentecost. As applied to the apostles, it has long since been fulfilled and is understood to pre-authenticate their writing of the NT. As applied to past and current believers, John 16:13 indicates the illuminating work of the Holy Spirit, not new revelation. There is no new revelation. The cannon of the scriptures was completed long ago. Thanks, jim, for quoting an inspring verse and for asking a stimulating question. :-) JVH0212 |
