Bible Question:
When Christ is revealed to us, are not the doctrines also revealed to us from Christ. I know men make doctrines and I think that could be a big part of the problem, where do the doctrines come from? Christ said in John 7:16 that the doctrines he taught were not His own but were DELIVERED to Him by the Father. So also Christ DELIVERED the same doctrines to us, they more then likely came through a human instrument, but they are not the human instruments doctrines, they were given to him by Christ who received them from the Father. John 7:16-17 16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. 17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. KJV Rom 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. KJV Which goes back to the question does God give different doctrines to different groups? I am questioning how can there be so many different doctrines and still all be from the mind of one God. Eph 4:3-6 3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Bible Answer: We do believe in progressive revelation, such as the foreshadowing of Christ in the OT followed by His Incarnation. In that sense, different groups (in time) receive different revelations. Perhaps it would help if you provided some examples of Bible doctrines that are "different" or somehow conflict in your mind. |
