Bible Question: What are the words for the four types of love? |
Bible Answer: My answer............................... Hello tjtmt, I do not know for sure the answer to your question, as I suppose different people would define and categorize "love" in different ways. However, I think that this would cover what a large number of people would say. I know that there were at least 4 different Greek words that we translate into English as "love. They were "agape", "philia", "storge", and "eros". "Agape" is usually defined as unconditional or unselfish love. "Philia" is the love between friends. "Storge" is the love between family. And "Eros" is the love of attraction (usually physically). |
