Bible Question: my friend has not done his mission ...WOW Non Messianinic prophecies, ,secular filfillment... heck, I dont even know what those are .. but my friend is worth it and Yes , you are right I will learn alot myself...I am not ready to give this up, and let my friend walk blindly down the wrong road.. I will be depending on this website myself along the way.. I pray that God guides my questions and shows me how to understand what he wants..ps.. my sister in law is also struggling with this same delima with someone she cares about..I will pass this info on to her..The Lord works in mysterous ways.. I love the Lord. P.P.S I noticed the Lord has a good sense of humor, (just wanted to throw that in, it's not in the question catagory)

I'm sorry I confused you. By non-Messianic I mean prophecy that is not specifically about the Savior to come. Example: In Isaiah 45:13 Cyrus the Great is named approximately 100 years before his birth and what he'd do. Also see Isa. 45:1-6, Ezra 6:3-5, Ezra 11:11, then check Wekipedia and some other online sources for him (that would be secular sources; secular meaning nothingg to do with the Bible or church).
Messianic means to do with Jesus and the promise of his coming. There are secular sources out there that confirm what the Bible says especially see Josephus and some other Jewish historians - also available online. It's just going to take some research work on your part.
Have your mormon friend check for the same things in their "other bible." Keep in mind, that they also use the Bible you're familiar with but it's been changed enough to invalidate it. Have them check and verify what is not available to you in the Christian Bible.
(Maybe you and your sister-in-law can buddy up on the research and do it together. That would be fun and informative.)
