Bible Question:
Hi good day today all. I was listening about the holy spirit and how if you have it, you will be able to do the same things as Jesus did if you have the Holy spirit. I was listening to a lesson from how we are saved, by believing in Christ, but then is there another thing where you are baptized by the holy spirit and then you can start doing the more greater gifts of the gift of God? From John 14:12 "I tell you the truth, whoever believes me will do the same things that I do. Those who believe will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the father. So Jesus raised people and cured people. People who believe in Christ can do this in the Holy Spirit? So we must be baptized in the holy spirit to do these things? Thank you, God bless. |
Bible Answer: A study of the book of John will answer your question. Focusing on the fourteenth chapter of John, list exactly what Jesus said we would do if we love Him. We learn much more and it means more to us if we study the word for ourselves and examine it to see if what others say about it is true. The evidence that Jesus is God is that He raised the dead and healed those that were sick. We are to love the Lord and obey His commandments as He repeats this in the fourteenth chapter several times. We cannot come to conclusions because of what others say - we must study the bible for ourselves. May I suggest you find a good in depth study of John - May God bless you as you grow in the grace and knowledge of Him. John 17:3 "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. |
