Bible Question:
Hi good day today all. I was listening about the holy spirit and how if you have it, you will be able to do the same things as Jesus did if you have the Holy spirit. I was listening to a lesson from how we are saved, by believing in Christ, but then is there another thing where you are baptized by the holy spirit and then you can start doing the more greater gifts of the gift of God? From John 14:12 "I tell you the truth, whoever believes me will do the same things that I do. Those who believe will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the father. So Jesus raised people and cured people. People who believe in Christ can do this in the Holy Spirit? So we must be baptized in the holy spirit to do these things? Thank you, God bless. |
Bible Answer: NightJay, This can be a highly charged subject, even complicated. But if we will view it within the framework of scripture it becomes much simpler to comprehend and understand. Look at Acts 2:38 as a matter of fact read the whole chapter. Son when you received Christ as Lord and Savior you got the Holy Spirit. Look at Eph 4:4-6. When you were saved you got all the Holy Spirit you will ever get or need. Look at Col 1:27 Christ in you, this what you got when you received Christ. Now in relation to the greater works referred in John 14:12 look at this in relation to Matt 28:18-20. This is the greatness of the greater works referred to In John 14:12. That we can go out today and witness the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world. In Him, lionheart |
