Subject: How can I glorify God? |
Bible Note: Hi Aixen7z4, You know of course that I am just "brother Ray"; just another sinner saved by grace. :) One of these days I may make a post that does not include some capitalization comment. (But don't count on it). I would agree with you that Paul examined himself, but not to the point of final condemnation or final act of judgment. We examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith. In Romans 14:1 he speaks about those being weak in the faith also. Romans 14:1, KJ, "Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations." Romans 14:1, NKJ, "Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things." Romans 14:1, NASB, "Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions." The Greek in that verse says "not to judgments of thoughts." The Interlinear copy with Jay P. Green, Sr, editor, says "your thoughts" and the NASB says "his thoughts". So lets go with the Greek and not pass judgment on thoughts: not his (the one weak in faith), or on your thoughts. Let each man be convinced in his own mind, Romans 14:5. That is not to say that there is no right or wrong answer to questions, but it means that "each one of us will give account of himself to God", Romans 14:12. You said that Job "shut up and repented in dust and ashes". Romans 11:32, "For God has shut up all in disobediance that He might show mercy to all." 1) Phil 2:22, "But you know of his proven worth..." Strong's #1384, "(the process or result of) trial, proving, approval." Phil 2:14,15, "Do all things without grumbling or disputing; that you may prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among who you appear as lights in the world,..." "Prove yourselves". Strong's #1096, "to come into being, to happen, to become." God is not through with us yet. We are in the process of becoming children of God. Phil 2:15, NKJ, "That you may become"; NASB, "prove yourselves." If there is any boasting or if we receive any glory, it will be in the day of Christ; and that because we held fast to the word of life. Phil 2:16. 2) Philippians 2:13--Ephesians2:10.
