Subject: How can I glorify God? |
Bible Note: Hi Aixen7z4, I looked up the word "prove" and found Strong's #1381, "dokimazo; from 1384; to test, by impl. to approve:--analyze (2), approve (3), approved (1), approves (1), examine (4), examines (1), prove (1), proving (1), see fit (1), test (2), tested (3), try (1), trying to learn (1)." So I would say that we can analyze, examine, and test our own work. And we can do this for ourselves about ourselves. But this is an examination and a testing not for seeking our own glory; for if anyone thinks he is something when he is not, he is only deceiving himself. We should test ourselves to see if we are spiritual and whether we have a spirit of meekness. Galatians 6:1. We test ourselves to see if we are sowing to the Spirit or not. Let us work for the good of all. 1 Corinthians 4 tells us that Paul didn't worry about being examined by anyone and even said that he did not even examine himself. The thing to keep in mind is that our examinations should not lead to judgments of ourselves or others. The One who untimately judges us is the Lord. And any praise that we receive will come to us from God alone, because He knows the motives of men's hearts. But we need to share all the good things that we have learned and received from God. We share them with the ones being taught and with the teachers. We don't become arrogant in behalf of one against the other. 1 Cor 5:6. 1 Cor 5:7, "For who regards you as superior? And what do you have that you did not receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?" All that we have comes from Him. John 2:16 says, "For of His fullness we have received, and grace upon grace." And John the baptist said in John 3:27, "A man can receive nothing, unless it has been given him from heaven." So I would say "Be happy for what you have received, for all things belong to you, and you belong to Christ." From the heart, Ray What we can learn from each other, as teachers or wanna-be-teachers as members of this forum, is that spirit of meekness. |
