Bible Question:
Hi, a couple of us had a discussion the other day regarding holding your emotions to yourself. For instance one of us can not remember when last she's cried. She is always happy like nothing can get her down. Where can we find the answers to let her know it is okay to show weakness, she does not have to be strong all the time, to share her emotions is not a weakness? I would appreciate if anyone could help us. If you could guide us or give bible verses to assist that would be great!!! |
Bible Answer: Certainly not. Someone need only open their Bible to John and see many examples of Jesus showing emotion. John 2:13-21, Jesus shows anger and throws the money changers out of the temple. Then in John 11:35 Jesus cries at the death of his friend Lazarus. God made us as emotional beings. Jesus clearly displayed two emotions that many would consider a sign of weakness. Does anyone in this forum consider Jesus weak? Not likely. I think the importance lies in not letting your emotions rule you, but instead letting God's will be the deciding factor. |
