Bible Question:
Hi, Does the Bible say that God the father and Jesus the son of God are one and the same? Your comments, please. With love in Christ FytRobert |
Bible Answer: Hi FytRobert, I encourage everyone to capitalize pronouns of Deity because God is not a god. He is the one true God. You speak of God the father but He is the Father. You speak of Jesus the son but He is the Son [sic] of God. You did not mention the spirit but the Holy Spirit is also Deity. All three are Persons of the triune God. All three are capitalized to show that they are God. John 4:25, "The woman said to Him, "I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us." John 8:12, "Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life." John 8:19, "So they were saying to Him, "Where is Your Father?" Jesus answered, "You know neither Me nor My Father; if you knew Me, you would know My Father also." John 10:30, "I and the Father are one." Or, a unity, or one essence." John 4:24, NKJ, "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." I am wondering if in your "searching for the truth" that we should rather be seeking to know Him better, the One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. From the heart, Ray |
