Subject: Islamic View of Crucifixion? |
Bible Note: Colin - "Should we blast it (Islam) from the pulpit a la Franklin Graham, or should we go to them as Christ would go to them?" ..... I wonder. How would Christ go to them? As He went to the scribes and Pharisees in Matthew 23? He used some strong language. Words like hypocrites, fools and blind, serpents, brood of vipers. Would He put them on notice that He is the way, the truth, and the life and that no one comes to the Father except through Him? (John 14:6) ..... Or how would Paul deal with them? He who cracked the whip with those "foolish Galatians," and talked straight talk to the Corinthians, and let the Romans know in no uncertain terms that he was not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is THE power of God for salvation. (Rom. 1:16). And in Paul's sermon to the Athenian Epicurean and Stoic philosophers on Mars' Hill, he didn't discuss with them the relative merits of his God and their gods. He preached to them the gospel of Christ. ..... Colin, you ask how can we as Christians best set the Muslims free? Well, I don't believe Christians can set the Muslims free. But I believe we can do as Paul did for the Athenians on Mars' Hill. He preached to them Christ and Him crucified. The record says in Acts 17:34 that some men joined him and believed. We too can preach Christ and Him crucified to the Muslims. Some of them will join us and believe. We ourselves can't set them free, but we can preach to them Him who can. --Hank |
