Bible Question:
IN MARK THE 16TH CHAPTER AND THE 19TH VERSE IT STATES THAT JESUS WAS RECEIVED INTO HEAVEN AND SAT ON THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD. IF JESUS AND GOD ARE THE SAME WHAT EXACTLY DOES THIS MEAN |
Bible Answer: The right hand is the power of God: Matthew 26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Both sitting on the right hand and coming in the clouds? Sitting/sat might not mean what we think it does. The verse you mention: Mark 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. Looking at the Strong's definition for "sat" number 2523: 1) to make to sit down a) to set, appoint, to confer a kingdom on one Hebrews 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Jesus finished what he was set out to do. He sat or was appointed, the kingdom. Sitting on the right hand says Jesus is the power of God. Thank you Jesus!! Praise the Lord! Norm |
