Subject: What do you think? |
Bible Note: Prayon Nothing I can think of is FOULER than a bad pastor, but pastors are human and they do fail. If we put our faith in them instead of the One we should put our faith in we will get hurt. I hear the excuse “I was hurt by a bad pastor.” But let us bring this into perspective. If people stopped doing whatever because they got hurt eventually nothing would get done. If a person with a serious medical condition is betrayed by a doctor do they stop seeing doctors? NO they find another one a better one. If people get hurt by the people at a grocery store do they stop buying food? No they go to a different store. If we are cheated by our mechanic do we stop having our car fixed? No we find a new mechanic. Why do we think church is so optional that if something happens we have every right not to attend? In fact in many cases unless everything is perfect in our view we don’t attend. This is nothing more than another lie of the adversary to keep people from facing the truth and out of church. I will agree that there are more than a few bad pastors and yes they are giving all pastors a bad image. But sometimes I wonder if it isn't some these pastors own fault. Instead of confronting the sin, exposing the sin many times other pastors help sweep the sins under the carpet. There is such a vale of secrecy surrounding the church today I wonder what is being hidden and who are we hiding it from? I'm glad to hear your friend is getting back into the church. I hope this time he realizes it isn't man but Christ that needs to be in control of his life. EdB |
