Bible Note: Hi Dalcent, I don't believe that 1 Timothy 3:15 is saying that the church is the arbitrator of Scripture. The church as the pillar and support of the truth was the description of the household of faith, the church of the living God. However, the mystery of godliness and our common confession is Christ Himself. 1 Timothy 3:16, "And by common confession great is the mystery of godliness: He who was revealed in the flesh, Was vindicated in the Spirit, Beheld by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory." ...godliness...9 It is a trustworthy statement deserving full acceptance. 10 For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers. 11 Prescribe and teach these things." Ephesians 4:10, "He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things." From the heart, Ray |
