Bible Note: A comment as requested: The sentiment seems to be that names and pronouns that refer to the Lord Jesus Christ should be capitalized to indicate a recognition of deity. Some translations of the Bible do that. Sometimes it is not clear whether it is the speaker, as in the case of Nicodemus, or whether it is the translator who recognizes the deity of Christ. But it seems appropriate that the The Lord should be honored in every way, in word and with action. I am told that Roman Catholics make a sign every time they pass a church or other holy place. Perhaps everyone who recognizes Jesus as Lord should make some sign indicating a bowing of the knee whenever the name is mentioned (Philippians 2:10). They might also say at that time that Jesus Christ is Lord. What do you think? |
