Subject: Where was Jesus for 3 days after death? |
Bible Note: Thanks for your speedy answer. I had reviewed the origins of the apostle's creed and did not like the sudden appearance of it around the 5th century or the sudden addition to the Roman version that said he died and rose on the 3rd day, to the Tertullian version that added "he descended to Hell and rose on the 3rd day". The supposed verse that fuels this is 1 Peter 3:19. But this verse clearly states he ministered to spirits in "prison". I felt it was a stretch to say he went to Hell. I had suspected the 3 days in Hell was not Biblical. Thanks again. I will show my music director and pastor the references I found here. I may have to nail my proclamation to the church door! ;p |
