Bible Question:
Why were Pilate and Herod enemies? What united them? |
Bible Answer: I'm not sure how much credibility we can take from the movie, The Passion of Christ but Mr. Gibson's portrayal seems plausible. Apparently, there was some question to Herod's sexual orientation and thus his political views were in direct conflict with the straight forward politics of Pilate who seemed to have been a fairly reasonable ruler, considering his Roman background. After all, he did try his best to set Jesus free; it just wasn't politically expedient for him to do so. I'd like to think that the movie was based on Jewish history as much as possible. What do you think? Anyone else? Blessings to you. Country Girl |
