NASB | Luke 20:4 "Was the baptism of John from heaven or from men?" |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Luke 20:4 "The baptism of John [the Baptist]--was it from heaven [that is, ordained by God] or from men?" |
Subject: What is the answer to this question? |
Bible Note: Rowdy, I respectfully disagree with this statment: "It's a humbling process that we all must go through if we truly want to go to Heaven." imo, this is a "work", an act of obedience in response to the regeneration that has already taken place - the saving work of God in our lives. As I consider this verse, imo, the baptism of John is from men,("the act itself was probably started by Jewish custom but linking it to a Godly purpose") for the baptism that "saves" is spiritual - (from Heaven) when we are baptized into Him upon our confession of faith.
