NASB | Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, "If you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and be planted in the sea'; and it would obey you. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, "If you have [confident, abiding] faith in God [even as small] as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree [which has very strong roots], 'Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea'; and [if the request was in agreement with the will of God] it would have obeyed you. [Matt 17:20; Mark 11:23; 1 John 5:14] |
Bible Question:
What was Jesus actually saying here: Lu 17.6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. |
Bible Answer: I'm thinking, just me now that Jesus ment this, If you had faith , and exercise that faith we could do these things that He spoke of. Then there is another scripture that says, These things come through fasting and praying. Jesus was letting us know that we could do the things that he did, and also greater things we would do. To God be the glory. God is not slack concerning his promises. be blessed. |
