Bible Note: Dear all-cing-i, Welcome to the Forum! You bring up an honest question. If you are sincere in your quest for truth, I'll offer you some suggestions. 1. Are you a believer? If not, I encourage you to place your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. The truth of scripture is only revealed by Gods' Holy Spirit. As scripture itself testifies in 1 Cor.2:14:" But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised." 2. Most of us (myself included) have had doubts about our faith or , specifically the validity of the Word of God. The crux in accepting Scripture as being inspired of God and worthy of our acceptance by faith, lies in the Resurrection. The entirety of claims made by the Bible and Christ Himself rest upon this(as fact). As the Apostle Paul writes in 1 Cor. 15:3-4,3 "For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures..." If Christ never rose from the dead, then nothing the Bible says about Him, or He Himself claimed would be true! The Resurrection is a historical and verifiable fact! One excellent resource to obtain would be "Evidence That Demands a Verdict" by Josh McDowell. He was a skeptic who was converted by the undeniable truth of the facts he uncovered. Also of value, I would highly recommend C.S. Lewis' "Mere Christianity". 3. You may also want to access additional info at www.gospelcom.net/rbc/10rsn.home. They have some brief but succinct articles available geared toward the new believer (or skeptic). Specifically see: 10 Reasons to believe Christ and 10 Reasons to believe in the Bible.
