AMPLIFIED 2015 | Luke 16:9 "And I tell you [learn from this], make friends for yourselves [for eternity] by means of the wealth of unrighteousness [that is, use material resources as a way to further the work of God], so that when it runs out, they will welcome you into the eternal dwellings. |
Bible Question: What does Luke 16:9 mean? |
Bible Answer: Through much prayer and research I have come up with this. "mammon" are designed riches, wealth and substance. Jesus called the mammon "mammon of unrighteousness," becarse such wealth is often unrighteously detained, and is not made use of to right and good purposes, by the owners of it; or because, generally speaking, it is possessed by unrighteous men; and, for the most part, used in an unrighteous manner (study the story of Zacchaeus, he gains mammon by means of unrighteousness). Well by all and all, We must use possession and money in a way that promotes God's interests and the salvation of others. If we use our money to help those in need or to help others to find Christ, our earthly investment will bring eternal benefit. When we obey God's will, the unselfish use of possessions will follow. |
