Bible Question (short): Prodigal follow up |
Question (full): In my mind this parable demonstrates that although we are saved by grace through faith, we must make a decision about Christ/receive Him. I see this parable as showing that although the prodigal son was dead spiritually (clearly not following the Lord when he made his decision) God still allows us to choose him. So although God is all powerful, he is still a perfect gentleman and allows us to choose life in His Son. Of course we do this after we realize that we could never earn salvation on our own, but must believe in the Lord Jesus. Would that be accurate? The reason I'm asking this question is that others say that we are dead to God and can't do anything, therefore we can't make a decision for Christ. |
