Subject: What type of baptism is this? |
Bible Note: Hi Searcher56, I agree with the quote also. And I would agree with you that your references here do not speak of water. Mark 10:38, "...and you shall be baptized with the baptism with which *I am baptized. Luke 12:50, "But *I have a baptism to undergo,..." Romans 6:3, "Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into *His death?" John 1:33, "...this is the *One who baptizes in the holy spirit." My choice is capitalized One, and lower case holy spirit. Romans 5:17, "For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the *One, Jesus Christ./" Romans 6:7,8, "for he who has died is freed from sin. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with *Him." We,too, will be raised and live with Him. Colossians 2:12, "having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised *Him from the dead. Colossians 3:1, "If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with (Christ) in God. When Christ, who is our Life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with *Him in glory." Colossians 2:9, "For in Him all the fulness of *Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete,..." John 10:30, "*I and the Father are one." I would rather immerse myself in the study of the word of God rather than spend my time talking about washings. From the heart, Ray |
