Bible Question:
According to Scripture, can holy thought and corrupt behavior coexist in a believer? WOS |
Bible Answer: Hi, Brother WOS... Christ said, "But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies." (Mat 15:18-19) Sin always originates in the heart of man. As my pastor says, "The inward reality is always reflected in outward behavior." Of course, we humans don't manifest our every thought, but only because we can think faster than we act! But because of our fallen nature, we may sin by omission or comission even when we do not intend it. Our lives continually proclaim that no matter what, we still need our Savior! In Him, Doc |
