Bible Question:
In Luke 10:28 Jesus tells the man "do this and you will live" referring to the two great commandments. I confess I have not studied this forum and this is the first question I have asked, so don't know the general doctrine followed (oh, so often we make our answers fit what we have been told is true, ain't it?) At any rate, should one apply this answer to everyone (before and after the cross)? And how strict is it applied? If one has a desire to do what is right to honor God, but fails, shall he live, or does one who sins miss the mark already? Has ANYONE done ANYTHING with ALL their heart and soul etc...ever? |
Bible Answer: 1 Kin 3:6 "Then Solomon said, "You have shown great lovingkindness to Your servant David my father, according as he walked before You in truth and righteousness and uprightness of heart toward You; and You have reserved for him this great lovingkindness, that You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day." NASB 1 Kin 9:4 "As for you, if you will walk before Me as your father David walked, in integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you and will keep My statutes and My ordinances,..."NASB Job 1:1 "There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job; and that man was blameless, upright, fearing God and turning away from evil." Job 1:8 "The LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil." NASB |
