Subject: Who is this One who even forgives sins? |
Bible Note: Hi New Creature, You have chosen an excellent reference in answer. The version you have chosen reads "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins..." This "he" is speaking of God because Jesus is in the Father (Light) and God was in Him. He Himself was in the world and is the Light of the world. The question for me has always been, "Why does one have no problem with calling Jesus God's Son, yet one does not want to call Him a Man?" My question for you then is, which is most accurate? "Who is this man who even forgives sins?" Luke 7:49. Or,..."Who is this Man who even forgives sins?" Is he faithful or is He faithful? You can read which ever version you prefer and will read regularly, but keep always in mind the One who will save you. The flesh profits nothing. This Son is Spirit. Don't get me wrong, the Son is not the Holy Spirit; but if He is God, and He is, then He is Spirit come to earth in the form of God but in the likeness of men. From the heart, Ray |
