Bible Note: Hi EdB, Thank you for pointing out my typo error. We are indeed talking about Mark 16:9ff. You said that the wording seems strange. Can you give an example for me, because I do not see that. The paragraph at the end of Mark in my study bible sounds strange, and I don't include that. I am talking about the paragraph that is usually after verse 8 in a few later mss. and versions. "And they promptly reported all these instructions to Peter and his companions. And after that, Jesus Himself sent out through them from east to west the sacred and imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation." That paragraph I would agree is different sounding and certainly appears and sounds out of place. Thanks again for your correction, and thanks for your concern about my health. I am doing fine with my medicine and everything seems to be looking good. I appreciate everyone's prayers and continuing support. You might also consider this comparison. Mark 16:11, And when they heard that *He was alive, and had been seen by her, they refused to believe it. And after that, *He appeared in a different form to two of them, while they were walking along on their way to the country. And they went away and reported it to the others, but they did not believe them either." Luke 23:11, "And these words appeared to them as nonsense, and they would not believe them. [But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen wrappings only; and he went away to his home, marveling at that which had happened.] And behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem. And they were conversing with each other about all these things which had taken place. And it came about that while they were conversing and discussing, *Jesus *Himself approached, and began traveling with them." I believe that these passages were written in order that more could come to have faith in the inspired word of God. Our God is not a God of confusion. If men have added or subtracted words, I for one believe that they will be determined, and a copy will be completed by the Holy Spirit of God that will be seen by all as being perfected. That is my opinion and hope. From the heart, Ray |
