Bible Question:  I was comparing Scriptures tonight and was reminded of how Mary obeyed Jesus and went to His brethren to tell them that she had seen Him.

I was reminded that Jesus reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe Mary who had seen Him.

Mark 16:9, "Now after He had risen early on the first day of the week, (He) first appeared to Mary Magdelene, from whom He had cast out seven demons. *She went and reported to those who had been with Him, while they were mourning and weeping."

John 20:17, "Jesus said to her, "Stop clinging to Me, for (I) have not yet ascended to the Father; but *go to My brethren, and say to them,..."

Mark 16:6, "... you are looking for (Jesus) the Nazarene, who has been crucified."

John 20:25, "...'We have seen the (Lord)!'"

John 20:27, "...Reach here your finger, and see My/ hands; and reach here your hand, and put it into My side; and be not unbelieving, but believing."

Mark 16:14, "...and He/ reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him..."

My question is this: Are these comparisons noteable enough for someone to believe that Mark 15:9ff should be included in the Scriptures?

From the heart, Ray

Bible Answer:  Ray
You asked in your question about Mark 15:9ff. Are you not referring to Mark 16:9.

If you are I can still see problems with that scripture, but I can also see where it could be valid. Nothing in Mark 16: 9-20 is saying anything that isn't said else where. However the wording seems strange compared to the rest of the book.
You bring up an interesting point about the interaction of Mary and Jesus and how it coincides with the other accounts. However this would be expected had scribes (as thought) add these verses in an attempt to fill in some missing text.

How are you doing my brother?
Be blessed and be a blessing
