Bible Note: Greetings, You can come to this conclusion because both of his sons recognized the Christian church and Paul mentions Rufus with warm affection (Romans 16:13). The sons were probably young at this time since Simon must of been young and fit enough to carry the cross. I doubt that the soldiers would of chosen an older man to carry the heavy cross. Simon had to of encouraged them in the Christian faith. prayon |
