AMPLIFIED 2015 | Mark 15:21 ¶ They forced into service a passer-by coming in from the countryside, Simon of Cyrene (the father of Alexander and Rufus), to carry His cross. [Matt 27:32; Luke 23:26] |
Bible Question: who was Simon of Cyrene |
Bible Answer: Greetings, Simon was a man from Northern Africa who began as a spectator, watching our Lord as He was led out of the city. The soldiers forced him to carry the cross. What an honor that must of been for him for all eternity. If simon was at first forced to become personally involved in the physical cross of Jesus, it appears later that he chose to take on the spiritual meaning of the cross for himself. prayon |
