NASB | Mark 11:21 Being reminded, Peter *said to Him, "Rabbi, look, the fig tree which You cursed has withered." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Mark 11:21 And remembering, Peter said to Him, "Rabbi (Master), look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered!" |
Bible Question:
Peter asked Jesus about the fig tree. Jesus replied that Peter should have faith in God. What does the fig tree symbolize here. Is Peter discounting the obvious, the enormity of the power of god that his words are that powerful ? It also is interesting about Jesus towards the back of the boat..he calmed the seas...and the replies were not of praise but of fear..What is Jesus doing to his disciples here..Is this a continuing saga of testing of loyalty and faith? |
Bible Answer: yes, I think this is really about Jesus expectations with regard to fruitfulness and everything to be right that supposed to be right. there is much in this verse that I like because when someone needs something, it is a provision available. if not, don't front. dont deserve to be standing looking like something. |
