Bible Question:
Romans 2:14-15 Can Gentiles that do not know Christ goto heaven? I have been looking for a commentary or sermon that covers this issue and can find nothing that goes into this. Most of the stuff i find goes around this verse and writes it off as an after thought, so i need an answer for my aethist work mate who believes that if they are a 'Good' person, then they are following the law their heart is leading them... any help would be appreciated. j |
Bible Answer: jultox The non-believers and atheist's final eternal destination will be the "lake of fire" Revelation 21:8 But the .... unbelieving, ... shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. People don't go to heaven based upon their good deeds, or because they think they are good. Salvation cannot be earned. It is not by works or good deeds that a person becomes saved. But rather by faith in Christ Jesus. Unless a person has a personal relationship with Jesus he cannot ever enter the kingdom of heaven. Salvation is a free gift which is offered universally to all who will receive it by faith. Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Without being born-again (spiritually) a person cannot enter heaven John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. The following is about a person who thought he was accepted by God and looked down upon another Luke 18:9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:b Luke 18:10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. Luke 18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. Luke 18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. Luke 18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. Luke 18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. Everyone is born with an inherited sin nature. When a person is convicted, or convinced by God and agrees with God that he is a sinner and repents and receives Christ as Savior, he can now say he has hope of entering heaven when this life is ended Peace be unto you New Creature |
