Bible Note: Makarios, when I came to Christ at age 14, I was not aware of going through any 'hoops and loops' [ I love your phraseology :-) ] of an obstacle course to find my way to Christ. Here's how it happened: I came to the realization that I was lost and needed a Savior. That came about through the action of the Holy Spirit. I responded through faith and acceptance of Christ's offer of salvation by acknowledgement of Him as my Savior and Lord. And, yes, I was baptized, not as a repentant sinner but as a regenerate believer, confessing my faith in Christ. That happened 53 years ago, and He has shown His power not only to save me but to keep me saved and, through His power, I shall persevere throughout all my remaining time on earth and for all eternity. We come to Christ through faith and faith alone, having nothing else to offer, having no plea but that His blood was shed to set us free from the bondage of sin, and we come unfettered by hoops and loops. --Hank |
