Bible Note: BradK, Sir I will answer your questions, the best I know how. Unconfessed sin, GOD dose not hear you Psalm 66:18. What is the basis of our relationship with HIM? To answer your question would require explaining our position in relation to GOD's Attributes. Gordon R. Lewis put it this way; "GOD is a invisible, personal, and living Spirit. Distinguished from all other spirits by several kinds of attributes; metaphysically GOD is self-existent,eternal,and unchanging; intellectually GOD is omniscient, faithful, and wise; ethically GOD is just, merciful, and loving; emotionally GOD detests evil,is longsuffering, and is compassionate; existentially GOD is free, authentic, and omnipotent; relationally GOD is transcendent in being, immanent universally in providential activity, and immanent with his people in redemptive activity. Our relationship is based on who GOD is. Is it fear? No,but fear is part of the relationship;Deu. 10:12-13,Matt.10:28,Job 28:28, 2Cor 7:1 Heb 12:28-29,and Proverbs 1:7 Is it performance? GOD's Performance yes! My performance no, but it is part of the relationship. To be evalulated at the Judgement Seat of CHRIST; 2 Corinthians 5:10,Ecclesiastes 12:14 Is it Love? Yes and no. No if by itself, YES if with all of the rest of GOD's Attributes. The use of 1 John 1:9 and 1 John 1:7b First read 1 John 1:5-2:2: HE is Light, sin is darkness, they cannot exist in the same place.Just like GOD is Perfect, and cannot have a relationship with that which is imperfect. But because CHRIST is the propitiation for our sins HE can(if). If we confess our sins,(Ps.32:5,Proverbs 28:13)HE is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,(Romans 3:24-26) and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.(Ps.51:2) and the blood of JESUS CHRIST his SON cleanseth us from all sin.(1 Corinthians 6:11) I do the first part,HE dose the second and third part, and I claim the promise in the fourth part. I do this every time GOD the HOLY SPIRIT convicts me of sin in my life. Also when I study the WORD. This enables me to have fellowship with the LIGHT. The more I stay in the LIGHT,more of the GRACE AND BLESSINGS I recieve. Yes , I am called to be in fellowship with CHRIST.(1 Cor.1:9,John 15:4) Again 1 John 1:9 and 1 John 1:7b is needed to have that fellowship with the Perfect SON. I am a sinner,I am human, Brian#9 |
