Bible Question: first off i need a spirit filled answere so please if you are not filled with the holy spirit or frequently alter your life do to his will in yours then please dont answere this question for me. my question is If the Holy spirit influences individuals as to Gods will in their life, when 2 people become one flesh as in marriage, what then is to be done, does the Holy spirit start to give both people same dreams and goals. or does he give them different ones. like tell one go to nigeria and become a missionary, and tell the other go to california. I personally do not believe the holy spirit would do such a thing. or does the Holy spirit keep silent to one and present The will of God to another? then both pray about it and folow out the will for both of them? |
Bible Answer: The Holy Spirit operates in many ways to speak to us. He can use dreams, visions etc. but this is not common. He most often speaks through the Word of God and through the 5 ministry gifts of Eph 4:11. The important thing for you to know is that He will never, ever say anything that goes against the written Word and that includes any dreams or visions you may have or anything you may hear from a pulpit. Judge everything by the written Holy Word. He, the Holy Spirit, will always testify of Jesus. (John 15:26) And we know that Jesus and the Word are one. The Holy Spirit may speak to the heart of either the husband or the wife to give direction. But He will not put the marriage asunder. Also if there is a difference of direction that seems to come to the two then there should be much prayer and fasting with study in the word and in the end the husband is the head (Eph 5:23) and determines the direction the two are to go. God Bless, hope this helps TEP |
