Bible Question:
In Matthew 6:33 " seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things wil be added to you" (1) How does one seek the kingdom of God? (2)What is the kingdom of God, before one can be able to seek it one has to know what is it? |
Bible Answer: The central theme of the Bible is the redemptive power of God. This power has its ultimate manifestation in the life, death, resurection, and exaltation, of Jesus Christ. (Note that "kingdom of God" and "kingdom of heaven" are synonomous terms.) In the OT the kingdom of God was much anticipated. By the time of Christ, John the Baptist could say, the kingdom of God is at hand. Christ would declare that the kingdom of God had arrived. A good exercise for you would be to look at every statement in scripture that contain these phrases. Look them up on the computer. Read their context fully. Write down everything you learn about this term. To understand anything in scripture, one must understand everything that scripture has to say about it. |
