Subject:  the Happiness of a Pure Heart

Bible Note:  8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see (to gaze with wide open eyes, as at something remarkable) God.
Ps 24:3 Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. 5 He shall receive blessing from the LORD, And righteousness from the God of his salvation. (NKJV)

Psa 24:3 Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. (ESV)

A pure heart is a heart that does not go after false gods.

De 4:23 "Take heed to yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of the LORD your God which He made with you, and make for yourselves a carved image in the form of anything which the LORD your God has forbidden you. 24 "For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

Romans 1 tells us that whole process, as people chose to worship created things, this leads them further from God. But for those who seek only to worship and serve the true God, the Creator, they will be with Him. We know how clean and good it feels when we are not divided between God and something else.

Hebrews, quoting from Haggai, and from Deuteronomy, says in chapter 12:
25 See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, 26 whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” 27 Now this, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire.

The time will come when all of our idols, or distractions, will be removed. The happy people are the ones whose minds and hearts are set entirely on the LORD, whose only works are to serve Him, because they are the one’s who will actually see their God.
