AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 5:39 "But I say to you, do not resist an evil person [who insults you or violates your rights]; but whoever slaps you on the right cheek, turn the other toward him also [simply ignore insignificant insults or trivial losses and do not bother to retaliate--maintain your dignity, your self-respect, your poise]. Bible Question: Does that really mean that as a Christian I can never defend myself or my family against abuse? Am I to let all kinds of evil actions happen and never denounce them or take a stand against them? |
Bible Answer: Hi Constantin Eph 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. There can be alot to say about your question, but I just want to (hopefully) give this simple answer. Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. (James 4:7) Stand your ground on your knees and the world will become smaller. So be preprayed, and when you face the situation, let Jesus come thru. Borgain |
