Bible Question: Can anyone tell me where in the New testament is says that we should not worry about following the laws in Exodus, like the eye for and eye thing? |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Matthew 5:38 ... context vv 17-48 ... Ahenry9951, I used the wrong tense with Sheima. This passage is not about the Law (which includes Exodus), because the word used is "said" nor "written" ... this is supported by verses 17-19. We are not to break any of the Laws, so we must follow them. In verses 20-48 Jesus is getting to the heart. Showing the externals needed to be taken a step or two more. Hope this helps, Searcher |
