Bible Question: is there in scripture to see if hell is really a place of torment? |
Bible Answer: Greetings kindhearted; Many people try to deny the existance of hell. Unfortunatly some of them are pastors/preachers. They are scared of offending people so they pretend that hell doesn't exist. I wish they would realize just what the repercussions of that could be. Hell is a very real place and the bible tells us it is a place of eternal torment. Luke 16:19-31 (NRSV) is the story of the rich man and the beggar. In verse 23 it clearly states "In Hades, where he was being tormented". And then is verse 24 he cried out for mercy and water to cool his tongue "for I am tormented in this flame". Both verses tell us without doubt that there is a hell and that hell is a place of torment. prayon |
