Subject: The law cannot be altogether invalid... |
Bible Note: Hi kalos, As I already stated Rom 7:3,6; Rom 6:14, 3:19 indicate that we are free, released, and no longer bound by the law (from rom 7), and that we are no longer under the law and it no longer speaks to us (from Rom 6 and 3). I see a reason for this in Rom 7:5, "For while we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were aroused by the Law, were at work in the members of our body to bear fruit for death." Rom 8:9 says we are no longer in the flesh, "However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit", therefore in Christ we are free from sin as seen all throughout Rom 6. We now, therefore, have a new capacity to obey God since we are in the Spirit. I hope this helps. I am affraid, given my time constraints, that I am going to have to make this my final answer on this subject. God bless, tortoise |
