NASB | Matthew 5:19 "Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 5:19 "So whoever breaks one of the least [important] of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least [important] in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever practices and teaches them, he will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. |
Bible Question: Should this be verse seen as confirmation that such people will got to heaven but that they will be ranked lowly. It seems odd that heaven will have different levels of satisfaction and dissatisfaction. |
Bible Answer: maybe its not talking about your position in heaven, but how you are reguarded by heaven. to paraphrase: whoever breaks one of the small commandments and and teaches others to do so is viewed(by heaven) as the least(worst) of humankind, but he who practises them and teaches others so is viewed as the greatest. i personally dont believe there are degrees of heaven. |
