Bible Question: Hi i was involved in a holiness church for 7 years but just never felt welcomed my question is how do I know where God wants me to be to worship and learn I just don't feel my Spirit flowing I just want to learn all I can I need wisdom and knowledge I want to be taught all I can and want my fire back in the Spirit I feel like I'm dying here Thanks to any help Peace |
Bible Answer: Hi, Barb... One thing of which I am absolutely certain is that feelings aren't the basis by which we are to make choices. We are to make our choices based on a sound interpretation of the Scriptures. Your growth isn't based on how you feel either. Since the Spirit never leads outside of the Word, you will find a closer walk with the Lord as you study the Word and seek to apply the clear teachings you find there. You will find a great deal about what a church should be in the pastoral epistles -- the letters to Timothy and Titus. The letters to Corinth are helpful, too, but you have to keep in mind they were a thoroughly messed up church. If we were to go back in time, I think that would be the last church of which we'd want to be a part!
