Bible Question: Wow! Thankyou so much for all your help. What if it was to mean church group against church group, as is happening in an underlying fashion in my country? I feel at the moment that the meaning placed on the use of nations is very important to the overall meaning of the verse, and if it is as you have both stated then it now ties in directly with the words of Paul in Ephesians 4:1-16. How do you both feel about this? |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Matt 7:34-36, 4:7; Acts 15:1ff; Eph 3:14-4:16; 1 Cor 1:10-16 ... coffee, greetings. Back to your original question ... I agree with what is said. We need to go to all groups. There are groups who weren't reached, because they are isolated, even tho they were part of a country. Divisons and denominations have existed, since the beginning of the church (Acts 15:1ff, 1 Cor 1:10-16). I even see family divisons today (Matt 7:34-36), so I do not believe this is what Matthew 24:7 is about. We've seen nation vs nation for most of history. If you read the Ephesians 3:14-21, you'll see a passionate prayer for what follows (4:1-16). We need to be united to make disciples of all the nations. Hope this helps, Searcher |
